Nothing ever stands still, from the obstinate rotation of the galaxies to the transition of the planets around the sun, right down to the passage of electrons within an atom. Nothing stands still. The observation of motion is a constant. We are continually driven forward physically, socially and even emotionally.
My aim with Momentum is to capture in some small essence the inherent nature of our journey forward. So by reducing form and concentrating on colour/motion I hope to explore and thereby ignite reflection in the fundamental beauty of this universal progression.
The pieces that I have created are merely snapshots of moments caught in transit and will be interpreted in completely different ways depending on who views them and when. Essentially, when you view the piece, you create your own moment, which is completely new and fleeting. So enjoy it.
The Tangible Pixel
Everyday, billions of people, take billions of photographs. These are uploaded to a multitude of social media platforms and shared, liked and commented on countless times. Our shared experiences are growing exponetially online and becoming a vast archive of human history ... but, and there is always a but, none of this is tangible.
We go to music concerts, then watch through our phones, stay in touch with relatives via a timeline and move gradually, more and more away from a tactile reality.
Not so long along we used to take pictures and turn that memory into an object, the printed photograph, to treasure and pass on.
My aim with The Tangible Pixel is to rediscover this process and literally build the picture, brick by brick.
I NEED YOUR HELP
